The Reno Municipal Court was presented with the 2017 Nevada Court of the Year award at a Reno City Council meeting on June 13.
NACE recognizes one court each year that provides distinguished service and professionalism in court administration resulting in the effective delivery of judicial services to the public. Under the direction of Steve Tuttle, Court Administrator, the Reno Municipal Court was selected as the 2017 Nevada Court of the Year for the following achievements:
Technology: launching a texting service to remind defendants of upcoming court dates or fine payment dates, providing online access to allow court users to request new court dates, and implementing electronic DMV conviction reporting.
Specialty Courts: obtaining funding to launch a new program to focus on those needing intense supervision and services, and receiving a Veteran's Treatment Court Planning Initiative from the Bureau of Justice Assistance to assist the court in implementing a Veteran's Court program.
Congratulations to Reno Municipal Court for providing our Nevada with exemplary court services.
